"This Morning" by Max PhineasI was awakened by a familiar aroma
of hair shampooed the day before
And by skin so vibrant
it penetrated both of my eyelids
Until I had to open them
to see your magnificent smile.
Doctors told me I had palpitations;
an irregular heartbeat, I wonder why?
Had they seen you the way I do each morning
that knowing look would appear in their eyes.
In a single motion, one soft kiss
from you to me
A flooding of sweet fluorescent memories
Infiltrates my thinking space.
Your beauty radiates around me
and I never want to leave.

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 11/14/05 at 03:01 AM Ann Marie & Jon stole the words out of my fingers. One of the reasons I like reading your poetry is the fresh point of view that is so mature and sees what older people sometimes don't.
Beautiful Cole...
