I was just wondering...

by Jim Benz

Is all human life intrinsically precious? Are there other universes? If you could determine who could immigrate here, would you let in those you thought would contribute the most to our country or those most in need of refuge? Would you let a homeless man in your house? Do you give money to beggars? Winos? If you became so ill that you would die if you did not stay hooked up to a large life support machine for the rest of your life, would you want someone to pull the plug? At what point on the continuum do you believe it becomes immoral to abort a developing life? To develop an abortive life? How does consciousness emerge from the physical brain? How do you wonder? Click on the button that represents to you, "Here and no farther."

Is war the natural occupation of the human male? Which of the laws of physics are fundamental, and which are quirks of our local universe? Who killed JFK? What do you know about this organization? At what point on the continuum do you believe it becomes wrong to end another person's life? Should conjoined twins be surgically separated if it will lead to the certain death of one of the twins? Is there such a thing as conjoined triplets? How many dead soldiers are too many? How many dead civilians? Is there intelligent life out there? Does it matter? Click on the button that represents to you, "Here and no farther."

Life...
Life...
Do fish ever get thirsty?

Approximately what percentage of the people around you do you consider to fall into one of the following categories: venal, selfish, dim, or unaware? Are you being petty? What is evil? Is it possible to experience objective reality? What kind of promotion or bigger opportunity would you like? Are there any universal propositions that we all know to be true with absolute certainty? What do you believe is true at all times and under all conceivable circumstances? Are physical laws immutable? Does time heal all wounds? Would you ever consider getting plastic surgery to keep yourself looking young? What is one wrong that you would like to see righted? Are you willing to die for that?

How come?

Indeed all questions are impregnant with their answers, and yet all subsequent answers are never beyond the realm of more questions. Eventually answering questions in time becomes an irrelevant and impossible task if one's goal is to know, realize, and experience LIFE as objectively as he can...eventually one must simply BE to SEE. This is a great expression of the human mind's mechanical need to question, its very own will to survival.

Salient questions - slightly taken aback by the assumption regarding 'our' country - is this something that's important in addressing these issues? Or have I landed on a parallel planet? :>
