#3: Fragmentary Gene (Geneticide)

by Jersey D Gibson

Diced
Spliced
Cut up all nice.

Hacked
Stacked
And ready to be packed

Rehash the old thing,
Bring up a human being.
It’s all the same old, same old,
New genes come into the fold.

Cooked
Cranked
Another product in the tank.

Market
Merchandize
Will all the money cover the lies?

Gene pool is getting a little thin,
But designer genes aren’t a sin.
Customers, I mean patients cover the floor,
And their money tells us they want more.

Flesh to flesh
Bone to bone
Heartbeat to heartbeat
Spirits sold away

Tantalize
Hypnotize
Perfect bodies are our prize.

Immolate
Consummate
Patch-work body is your new fate.

The poor still die at an early age,
An aging, sickened body their cage.
We can afford it, burdens we don’t bare,
Anti-wrinkling gene lets us not care.

Life for life
Youth for youth
Wisdom for wisdom
Humanity raped away

Geneticide
