clouds

by Peter Humphreys

coming over
Lough Arrow
the rain
was
horizontal
in
our faces
the wind
scouring
our
eyes
dry
as we
sheltered
by the wall
over
our heads
clouds
raced
inland
wildly
carelessly
moments
like this
stick
in the
mind
yet
how come
we no longer
remember
the
easy days

Mmm... There is just such a day outside my window as I read. Why WOULD one remember the easy days? Its backs together against the wall that sorts out priorities. As of course you know or you would not have written this :)

Maybe it's because time is a great healer, but a lousy beautician? Nice work, Peter.

we don't remember the easy days because they don't challenge us. wonderful piece...i know the feeling.
