No where by Rebecca LinA slap in your face
those two were
and all you tried to do
was to hide the anger,
the jealousy and the pain,
but you were just
a disgrace.
When you shot them
they seemed to notice.
The others wanted to see you
all the time,
but they couldn't give you
what you needed.
Anguish in your eyes,
that demise; despise the lies-
your requiem.
Life-
an interesting concept,
but your plan didn't
fly through.
Her chest was bleeding,
her eyes were shut,
her stomach twisting
and face in a rut.
Too good to be
rotten.
And she cried.
Cried for a lack of words.
Cried in a haze of frustration.
Cried because she knew
she was going no where. 10/30/2005 Posted on 10/31/2005 Copyright © 2024 Rebecca Lin

Posted by Rula Shin on 11/03/05 at 07:00 PM The anguish is so real in this piece, so pervasive, and the tone is so cut-throat. Indeed words can be used for violent purposes sometimes cutting deep into the subconscious, but this is only because we choose to give them weight subjectively, for they are in fact, only a reflection of projections and assumptions within and as crude as they are incapable of revealing WHAT IS or what SHOULD BE. In short, Ashok is right, words too will take us nowhere just as fast as will negative emotionalism. Well done!! |
