-#24: A Plague On Both Your Houses (War Against The Machines)

by Jersey D Gibson

BROADCAST TRANSMISSION

Warning!
High-Rad zones near!
Wander into this area,
And lose what you hold dear!

Heatseekers flying everywhere
Bombs that atomize
We fight with all our might
Will anything be left alive?

Machines have gone insane now,
They attack us and their own.
World War III has come and gone,
Now we’re left with sticks and stones.

Warning!
High-Interference Area!
Fly into this area,
And you will be shutdown!

Corrosion begins to fill me,
Sensors are off and on.
Destroying everything in my path,
But I’m really just shooting blind.

Virus has a hold of me,
Rust fills my hull.
Like poison leaking in my veins,
I’m flying out of control.

Warning!
Under heavy guard!
Walk into this area,
And you’ll be shot on sight!

Drones fill the night sky,
Sun bleaches old bones.
Metal strewed over wastelands,
That was once our home.

Poison fumes fill the sky
Pollution the least of our worries.
Machines are left killing each other,
Fighting with Hell’s fury.

Warning!
Access Denied!
If you proceed any further,
You will not be taken alive!

Nowhere left to dock,
Nowhere left to refuel.
Lots of targets, out of ammo,
What more can I do?

No more Voice to guide me,
As I crash down to the earth.
Just a rusted burning hunk,
That man once gave birth.

Indeed, a plague on all houses involved in war. n "Fighting with Hell's fury" is a wonderful line, by the way.
