Undesirable

by Rebecca Lin

You see life
in two perspectives,
see everything in between.
It's not just black or white,
everything's grey
and you're stuck in the middle.
I hope you know you shouldn't be involved at all.

It's not darkness or the light,
you're just there
and you see everything that shouldn't be seen.
You live your life through good deeds
and also see the sinister spectacles
that try to draw
the pitiful part of you in.
You love the simple things,
but long for so much more.
All you want to do is to help,
but that doesn't seem to be helping at all.
So should you give up,
become engulfed in apathy?
Or should the darkness manifest,
just so you could suffocate in ecstasy?
Do you think you represent the epitome of benevolence?
Hah, that only makes me laugh.
Even though you convince yourself that you lack life experiences,
I know for a fact that you've been there...
been there for everything you needed to be there for.
And I really hope you know you shouldn't be involved at all.
