Alight by Amanda Conloguethere's a fire
beneath my skin
no amount of showers
can douse
I lay bare in bed
eyes burning
smoky shadows drift
across walls and ceiling
Wet hair steaming
I feel the sweat gather
beneath my breasts
in the bow of my lip
a salt lick that parches
my throat, tongue
glued to soft palette
all I can do is moan
my dream of your kiss
withers into cinders
that flutter away with my breath
my thoughts are an accelarant
and oh, love, with the thought
of your touch, I ignite
a fire blazing so fiercely
so clearly, I am alight
guiding you to me
