stagger away

reconcile the past
with resurected placement
burns, slides down
a silver retreat

today, tonight
an hour creeps
a silent crawl
break off, drift

puncture slow
presses, builds
expectation the point
is pressure
and through

breaks the tension
slides in and releases

homogenous mixture
rages throughout
a sea of red
circular retreat

after the reverie the needle
stares, a droplet
hangs frozen in light
a small ball of blood
bubbles at the point of entry
bones ache with the weariness of addiction
