September Comes

by Joseff Marat

A sunset warms the side of your face
as the tears run away from your cheeks
carelessly your raven hair is caught in the wind
even it - needed out of this place

guided by the moonlight you wander through the stars
wanting everything to be so perfect placed
yet in marvelous transission - evening crawls into the day
and battles live where thoughts have been replaced

:>The world is in your eyes
and the sky is in your hands
have no fear the stars will fall in seperate strands
but if you hold with all your might
September comes with different plans
if your strong the constellations will still stand

on a perfect day the clouds are overcast and grey
your sipping tea; cozy in a comfy chair
colored socks caress your feet and a sweater keeps you warm
of all anxieties of life you're unaware

in the corner of your mind
something creeps up from behind
this is your time to cut the line and lay them bare

b>cause if you hold on till the dawn
then you have never really won
and I'll still be waiting to see
that smile again

:>The world is in your eyes
and the sky is in your hands
have no fear the stars will fall in seperate strands
but if you hold with all your might
September comes with different plans
if your strong the constellations will still stand

... we're waiting for you when you get home

Author's Note: A close friend of mine had the roughest of years, starting about November of last year. Though I can't share the details, things happened frequently enough to not let a day go by without something bad happening. Her car broke down frequently, she didn't have the money to fix it, she lost her job, etc.... well, the last straw was that she had to move from her apartment (back rent) and get rid of her dying cat that was the last comfort from a torn, torn childhood. This was in the beginning of August. She had to have a new place by the end of the month, she had just gotten a new job, and by September things would start getting better again. This was my song of hope to her. NOTE: b> was the bridge ; :> was the chorus

I wish I could hear the melody... this is a gentle song, beautifully written.
