The Horizon by Joseff MaratThrust past the winter
to drown in the heat
forced between two lovers
the ice breaks 'neath my feet
I plunge into a sky
expecting some death-like other world
the state of weeping former angels
crying out to be un-hurled
I cannot see past the day
I cannot live through the night
not while the bearer of my soul awaits
to pour the blue and upset my sight
I wander on the ocean floor
a nomad of the basin bed
seeking light from the deep sea creatures
but finding ignorance instead
the sediment begins to form
a division of the cobalt ground
a prayer is heard on the sonar ping
from a distant boat - a deafening sound
the prayer is for me
a lament. for where have I gone?
she searches, I remain hidden
and I wait - until she leaves... until the dawn
In the patterns of confusion
twixt me and Saturns moons - a fusion
celestial bodies of illusion
draw my jellyfish contusions
But if I die today - she'd cry for me the fact remains
that if I pine away - it will slowly eat me up inside
and an eternity of this I cannot bare 09/30/2005 Posted on 10/01/2005 Copyright © 2025 Joseff Marat
