Sunrider

by Joseff Marat

Kiss the sun gently with your lips
and, in an instant, melt away
like molten siver shavings falling delicately
to a glass of burgundy wine

Temple bare upon them
sheltered 'neath the cloak of shame
waiting in the mouth,
the heart that burns

Softly kiss the moon
the only light to trust
in fading skies - covet the stars
the eyes of god
you've touched the heart that burns

Immerse yourself in the cool and calm of night
shame your face with wings of flight
fall you angel, dying light
swallowed in the sea
the heart that burns
