"Public Service Announcement"

by Max Phineas

This is for the fighters
Snatching bullets from the air
To defend the weak and helpless
Knowing too much not to care.

For the kids who pull all-nighters
Studying for the big exams
To please the overbearing parents
In hopes of meeting their demands.

This is for the haters
Taking pride in bigotry
Racial slurs, curse words, and violence
Leaders of hypocrisy.

And this is for the skaters
Grinding rails and nailing tricks
Dedicated, out past midnight
Until they finally land those flips.

Now what this all comes down to is
The need for unity.
We need just one thing in common
Something on which we all agree.

So to the activists and anarchists
To all people far and wide,
Take a moment and remember this:
We're ALL the same inside.

Yes, the process of knowing starts from the process of knowing one self, which leads to the other. But once we know and realize, theres always a possibility of change and growth. The point is how many of us are capable of this realization?

A beautiful and well administered reminder that we all begin from a similar point, though not of molds, but of clean slates. Though what our minds and bodies percieve and draw and conclude from the input/impressions we interpret every passing moment may or may not allow for the evolution of our spirits/personalities, for what we tend to create common to our natures are barriers and chains and not links common to one another, which can only be achieved when we realize the workings of our own mechanisms...only then can we begin from inside ourselves to reach to the insides of others. But as Ashok said, who of us has the capacity to realize that we are immersed in passive and mechanical lives? Nicely done :-)

I meant "spirits AND personalities"
