Twilight's Bliss by Mark MaxeyTonight I sit under the stars and moon
Wondering if I will ever see you return
No twisted thoughts or curiosity
Just simple thoughts of mystery
Once you were in the midst
Between cultures lost
It seemed you were in an abyss
One simple move was all it cost
And now all I have are memories
Miles away among the trees
I ponder if you miss the bliss
Or are they golden leaves
Among simple lists
Tonight I sit under the stars and moon
Wondering if I will ever see you return

Posted by Jim Benz on 10/13/05 at 03:30 AM nice reverie. when I read it, I can feel myself in the woods, reflective, with a fond pain in my heart. did you consider making this into a sonnet? you're so close already, and the form would be perfect for what you express. |
