Rapid Change by Arthur PartenFelt while heard the shot rings clear
Treasonous lungs fill with thick blood I draw in to run
My own desire for strength betrays me here
The brush blurs as I drive through it
I stop for rest and fall as my legs go numb
There is only blue until a silhouette steps forward against the sun
Go on do it; I know there's another slug in the barrel by now
Give me a little help to keep my dignity this last moment
The rifle sounds one more time and I look at the bright expanse of blue once more
Heartpierced this time through 09/23/2005 Author's Note: A bit awkward, but perhaps I can do something with it in time.
