Touch

by JJ Johnson

God please touch the world and heal it with your love
If I was you it's what I would do
Touch every child sick with a cold
Touch every young one born with defects
A nasty word to say they are less than the rest
Touch children born without love in their lives
Born without food and without hope
Touch them because I can't heal them
To lay your hands on all that is broken
All that is not pure in those too young to be impure
If I was you it's what I would do
Touch little Ro-Ro and make Autism vanish from the world
Touch all the boys and girls who cannot hear your voice
Who cannot see your light or understand your words
And even those who can, simply because they are innocent
Because they are simple and because they are yours
Heal every broken bone and every broken heart
Because someday they will be like me
Someday they will have given up
Given up hope, if they ever had any
Given up on love, knowing it will never come
If I could heal them I would give up my life
If I was you it's what I would do

Author's Note: It's just not fair that innocent children suffer. Please also read "Ro-Ro Rows Her Boat". Also watch the new tv show "Touch" about a boy with Autism. Pure coincidense that they chose to call it Touch. I wrote this 10 years ago and I doubt they bought my book... JJ

...jjJ...wow, what a warmly chilling read...you touch a nerve of humanness annnnd humaneness with your honest plea of HEEELLLLP! and ahem, dare i say the last part where the reason for your plea and/or your admission...let me say that is heavy with beauty...you see your/our fraility as the veil of 'virgina, there ain't no santa claus'...and to see life sometimes disguised as death, well to say it hurts is understatement...on this one you hit a mark of solemn beauty...a hurtful happy that don't make you smile...it is lovely, well done...peace, chaz
