It is just outside of
our reach.
We cannot see it.

In a Zen garden,
there are 11 large stones.
No matter where one sits along this garden,
one will only see a maximum of
10 stones.
The 11th stone is the soul, and is
the 25th fret.

One may not reach the soul
via automobile or satellite.
One may not see the soul
via eye or camera.
One may not hear the soul
via ear or microphone.
Likewise, one may not reach the 25th fret
via fingers or effects.
One may not see the 25th fret
via eye or scientific instrument.
One may not hear the 25th fret
via ear or pickup.

The 25th fret is outside of our boundaries.
One cannot throw a rock from the earth onto
the far side of the moon.
Likewise, one cannot attain
the 25th fret.

It is elusive.
unseeable.
unreachable.
unknowable.
And it is there.
