Full Womb Crescent Moon

by JJ Johnson

It might have been the fire from the harp of Lyra
That shone its grace upon the aura of young Ava
Filling the space within as Sol rose toward high noon
Calling to her parent and coming none too soon
In the starry sky the crescent moon is days from full
Still the rising child inside could not resist its pull
The mothers womb is full and ready for a fight
The falcate moon faced Leo and the lion took a bite
Perhaps the hungry babe came out to see the site
Or preferred the warmth within until the morning light

A beautiful way to describe a birth and dedicate a tribute to mother and daughter. Nature and astronomy assisted and observed in this birth. And I learned a new word.
