Phil Grims Progress by Charles E MinshallIn Merry Olde England at every court
function, Phil Grim, (an extremely ambitious
and verbal Courtier) with long and very
boring orations, drove King James The First
to the point of insanity. The King finally
could stand no more. By Royal decree, Phil
Grim and his followers were forcibly placed
in irons, put aboard the sailing vessel The
Mayflower, and exiled to the new world.
In the new world, stepping out of the ships
long boat and onto a huge rock, Phil Grim
immediately gave another lengthy speech.
Through the following years he used the
same rock again and again as a podium for
his many other speeches. Thus we have
Ply Mouth Rock. We should amend our
history books.

| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 09/18/05 at 05:14 AM Charlie, I love your take on history. As long as it keeps the laughter coming, write it like you want. Maybe this had something to do with the story in last Sunday's LA Times Magazine - about things being based on a "true" story. ;-)
