Pink Triangle on Her Sleeve

by Aaron Blair

For Tina

Rainbows and triangles. This
is my first crush, my mind
forming geometric patterns
of girl on girl on girl,
pyramids lining a sapphic river.

In my imagination, your mouth
impeaches me, forms a perfect
circle, as pink as an areola.
Fanciful notions are let loose in
a brain exploding, heated blood
racing in new and unfamiliar ways.

My world is too square for
an equation like ours. Two x's
dancing around each other, bodies
that barely touch, but for the poems.
I love you. Too bad the parts don't fit.

Author's Note: Slam poem. Write a poem featuring a circle, a sguare, and a triangle. I wrote about wanting to have sex with my best friend. Lyrics from a Weezer song = title.

Amazing honesty and beauty swirl in passionate foreplay for an event dreamed of and steeped in anticipation. Great read.
