Forager's Dance

by Jim Benz

they drop from the sky
wearing orange pollen pants
come to share nectar
and dance

figure eights to the bloom
via sun from the brood
offered with wobbles
and sweet food

each step on the comb
drunk from sun but enhanced
in the shadows of language
bees dance

...jimBenz...ya better watch it boy!...you nearly get an "ahhhh" but, hey not from me...this is just a tremendous tribute to our friend the humble bumble bee and physiologists say that they aren't supposed to be able to fly...so what do they know...but your language is so fitting...you make a person "see" them/him/it in its glory...simple but complex...more than cute, this is a rightful tribute to a lesser entity[at least in our big brained mind, eh?]...peace,chaz

A bee's dance is the shadow of language. Artful insects dancing to show what they mean. A fusion of Art and Science... beauty with purpose. Great read.
