"Me"

by Max Phineas

I hate being expected
To "do the right thing"
(I rarely do).

The little things
Are always the hardest-
Who knew?

Don't make me be perfect
I can barely be me.
The simplest things
Aren't always easiest to see.

It's not that I'm indifferent,
I just don't care.
It's not that I hate people,
Just the people who stare.

I'm not a freak
I'm just different than you.
I am only unique
With my own point of view.

'The simplest things Aren't always easiest to see.'..yes, because theres adifference is seeing and SEEING. because the SCENE changes with the layer from where one is seeing.Putting a question tantamounts to seeing. Even when one sees nonseeing one is SEEING.

"I can barely be me. The simplest things Aren't always easiest to see" - indeed one is hardly ever one's self, for we are always divided within, one "I" praising or scolding or hating or loving or punishing the one "self". As Ashok said it's the simplest things we are blind to because we are not looking from the simplest place, we occupy a level of awareness, a space in which the simplest view is blocked, and we are in addition reluctant to admit that our 'chosen' place is misguided. "I am only unique With my own point of view" - and this much is true, though even 'different views' can be symptomatic of the same common disease called blindness. That's what I saw, I like the rhyme of this very much and the flow, nicely done. :-)
