Halo 19 (lyrics: recombinant)

by Richard Paez

take off the last one

so dirty and dinged—

pull the next one off its peg

and start over again.

can you see the pattern now?

another link in the chain:

trading all your precious guilt

for all my priceless blame.

can you see the pattern now?

just links in a chain:

halo for halo trade

and start over again.

now the nineteenth time around.

drop the old one to the ground.

this new and perfect band

replaces all you ever had.

I can see your pattern now.

another link in the chain:

trading all your precious guilt

for all my priceless blame.

I can see your pattern now.

just links in a chain:

halo for halo trade

and start over again.

halo nineteen

a new and perfect dream—

is it not the purest thing

that you have ever seen?

halo nineteen

another perfect dream—

you are the purest thing

that I have ever seen.

yes, yes, yes

you are the purest thing

that I have ever seen.

Author's Note: The memory of your voice melts the film of cliché from my skin.

Dedicated to and inspired by TR.

were i a musickal instrument, my wedding band of pain would be burning hot embers through this piece... it's suppose to be perfect, yet the blame and guilt remain the same... brilliant flow... blessings...
