the answer is always the same
when i am asked that ill-fated question

"Why is it that you are not married yet?"

i simply say that like any typical male

"My husband is lost and won't stop to ask directions."

that seems to quiet them up a bit
maybe next time they will think before they ask

but there is always a next time
always
