Autumn Prayer by Mary Ellen Smith
Lord, send to us an Autumn Angel
With sunflower bundles burnished bright
That we may hearken to the changing
Of your welcome autumn light.
An angel Lord to ripe the pumpkins
There on the vine winding away,
One to paint your trees in splendor
In the dwindling light of day.
And may she speak a word of wisdom
To all who have the heart to hear
For itÂ’s the heart that does the listening When the fall is drawing near.08/14/2005 Posted on 08/14/2005 Copyright © 2025 Mary Ellen Smith

set ten feet apart and they just kissed today. We
might have pumpkins for halloween....Charlie |
| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 09/05/05 at 03:48 AM Mary Ellen, you make me miss being back east, because of the change of colors and that special nip in the air. The autumn angel watches not only the earth, but those in their autumn years. It appears that only in the later years do the things we can't understand earlier come to light.
