The Man In The Photo by Sahar RahimI didn't know what I was opening
When the screen popped up I waited with anticipation
It was labeled "personal" a folder I'd not seen before
I just had to wait and see
Then the photo popped up and my eyes opened wide
My breath rushed out and my heart jumped inside
There stood the man I'd fallen for
There stared the eyes of a man so lost
You wanted a simple critique that I couldn't give
This artist for the first time couldn't be objective
I wanted to cry but all I could do was laugh
Your picture brought emotions back from my past
So many times I'd kissed those lips held so stern
The hair I played with now wet and teased
There was something in those eyes that I'd never seen
Determination, hope, and somewhere in between
I fell in love again
Something I was afraid of
I fell in love all over
With the man in the photo
And all I could say when you asked what I thought
Was it's a beautiful picture, it just needs to be cropped 08/10/2005 Author's Note: I do love him. But I don't want to.
