i shift easily

my hair, for instance,
i cut frequently

no salons, just me, the bathroom mirror, and scissors in shaking hands

i even shaved it once
and fell in love with the freedom

happiness seems to be tied
to the length of my hair

at the moment
it is past my shoulders

and i'm trying hard
to let it grow
