Small Town Girl

by Sahar Rahim

I know where the road could lead
I've been down it so many times
I let myself feel
When I could easily ignore

I know what you're thinking
And that scares you
Because how could a girl like me know you?

Small town girl
Knowing nothing of the world
She steps out of the bubble
Falls heart first
What does she know?
This small town girl

There's something about the way she acts
Something about that smile
You've never seen a girl trust so much
Even when the world gets her down

Maybe there is more
Behind those innocent eyes
Could it be worth fighting for
These thoughts you'll deny

Small town girl
Knows nothing of the world
Sheltered her whole life
But could it be worth the fight
She brings you up when you've fallen down
Builds the bridge for you to climb
But what does she know?
This small town girl

What could I know
I'm a small town girl.

Very powerful, you open up a vulnerable door.. yet with the strength that is inside you. You balance those two ideas very well. Great read.
