A Sea Maiden (part 2)

by Jennifer L Banks

My intuition came on strong
Hitting me hard last night
All these charts cannot be wrong
As I gaze to the empty shore in the moonlight.
I look up and wonder at my tattered sail
feeling the echoed words, his southern gale
I should’ve dropped anchor, I should’ve said more
yet I was worried about the jagged rocks
along that ragged shore.

The connection was there from the start
I shiver in the mist, of what might have been
We would’ve thrashed in each others nets
Heated up this fevered volcanic sea
Soulmates connected, our hearts deeply effected
Softly dancing close among the waves
My intensity strong, my intuition clear
I found it so hard to believe
this beachcomber, this cavalier
Wasn’t some mirage we weave
Now these ties are probably severed
After all the storms that I have weathered.
He was the port that I’d call home
Yet the lone beachcomber left,
off the beach to roam.
