i loved you before i even knew i loved you

i remember drinking Zima's ~ when Zima's
were brand new ~ and dreaming of driving
off toward the sunset in search of
Jim Morrison ~ because we both believed
down deep that the Lizard King was alive and well
so much for dreams

we went our separate ways ~ for a moment
it took 3 years for us to find each
other again ~ this time ~ we knew

with words uttered and a closeness
we had never shared
you held me
told me you were scared
and we fell asleep in each other's arms

i don't know where you are today
but i think about you time and time again
