Mountain by Uriel Tovarfragance bounces off my car windows
fogging up the windshield.
your eyes like headlights
cut those darkened corners
melting through fields of
heavy pines
and one-stepped steep cliffs.
the air thins out with the colors
watering blues into orange and red fury
fanning out into calm violete coolness.
i got out of that beat up station wagon
and stood there
absorbing the distant lights into my
small tightened eyes
and becoming part of the greatest mystery in the world. 08/04/2005 Posted on 08/05/2005 Copyright © 2024 Uriel Tovar
