A Beach Walk

by Jennifer L Banks

Indigo night and sacred stars
Lazurite waves lapping quietly
at our barefoot sandy feet,
wandering down the pale velvet shore
under my haughty Cassiopeia
sounds of crashing waves and gull song lull
a waxing moon hangs over
the rocks in pagan ancient dance

as I sit and ponder tonight
of this elusive dreamscape in my mind
I wonder quietly in my Mozart trance,
what it would feel like to hold your hand
and feel the infinite echoes of
Neruda in your blood?
To hear your world in every
labyrinthine heartbeat...

Author's Note: originally titled: Just a dream - the poem told me it wasn't finished. Now it is.
