Earth and Time

by Jennifer L Banks

Digging your nails into the earth
To feel a sense of belonging.
To feel whole and alive.
To be on your knees, to thank the earth
For the time you have upon her.
Hearing the whispers through the trees
The laughter from the waters
The messengers of feathered wing
As they sing their daily rhyme.
For the night to cover you like a dark blanket
As your days under the incandescent orb are
Filled with emotion and light.
Nights are the times of pause and reflection
Of dreams and secrets that only the earth knows.

Yes, earth and time, feeling one with is like walking hand in hand with this space time continuum in timelessness. This is beautiful.

Jennifer, you get to the very root of why we're here - to love the earth because she houses us. Each part of life adds to the richness we experience each day.
