I dance like a little gay ballerina

by Bradd Howard

a little redundant perhaps
but when I lace up my pointe shoes
strap on my tu-tu
and slap on that beatific smile
I am unstoppable.

with my Swan Lake grace
and my ugly duckling moves
I've done pirouettes until I was breathless

hiding under an arabesque
I glare at you
but all I can see are Cracked Nuts.

twirling and spinning my way into your world
