yes yes yess by Kimberly RhodeI've got weak limbs for you
to rip through.
But I'm tired of asking
if you need help climbing that fence.
It's the only way
away from these people
in thier homes, washing their hands
for a late dinner.
If there's a roof we can stand on,
I'll give you another chance
to get what you need.
I'll give you a reason for this.
I've been alone a lot.
Some have taken notice.
I lie on the floor,
far below the windows.
Head right by the stereo.
Stretched out, the length of this room.
Empty boxes, cracked cd cases,
Almost asleep, I'd let you
call for a kiss.
Not because I think of you.
You are so young.
You are so thin, and so excited
I started this.
Cheap gin, eyes closed.
I couldn't stop laughing
like a child hidden behind
the frailest apple tree
in her land.
A slow drip.
Taste of ash.
It was soft, like you were knocking.
I was alone in the flowers,
in the wild
right inside. 08/01/2005 Posted on 08/01/2005 Copyright © 2025 Kimberly Rhode
