Ignorance by Sahar RahimBeing naive to the world may seem horrible to so many
But I say ignorance is bliss
Not knowing the pain, is something I'd say should be cherished
There is a question that people always ask
Is it better to love and lost, or never to have loved at all
To this I believe there is a simple answer
Never have loved
For years I lived in ignorance
Longing for what I thought I deserved and could find
Believing whole heartedly that finding love would be the best thing in life
I was wrong
For I found love, then I lost it
It may have been a childs love
One of those short term crushes
But what I felt, I never want to feel again
Some say it's a risk worth taking
Putting yourself on the line and praying that if you fall someone will catch you
I wish I'd never fallen
Then I wouldn't know the agony of hitting the bottom with no cushion
No one to comfort and hold you
No one who cares
This could all be a temporary notion
That believing is for fools
It could be bitterness that provents me from taken the step letting someone know that I feel for them
Prevention seems the only route however
And if it is the price I pay
Well I'm willing to hold off
They say love is the best feeling in the world
To that I say ignorance is bliss. 08/01/2005 Author's Note: When the one you love betrays you, it's hard to move forward.

| Posted by Meghan Helmich on 08/14/08 at 05:34 PM you know, the ninth and worst circle of dante's inferno was for betrayers. it all makes sense - it's really the worst feeling in the world to be betrayed by someone you care about. |
