Branded Vision by Ava Bluwith tattoos replacing eyes,
your sockets seem ashen
you cant see me spitting
nails on your walls;
they screech through the wood
revealing how cheap you are
everything around is being demolished
yet you remain apathetic
suddenly,
you caution
but it only sounds crass
coming from such flimsy teeth
youve been lax for too long;
I just ignore it while
thrashing through your things
your life is my novel now
I will flourish with your talents
because youve reviled
in my blunders
long enough for me to learn
how to overthrow
you.
07/28/2005 Author's Note: I dreamt this last night.
I could see my face without any eyes;
it was creepy.
I should point out that it was me talking to myself in the dream and these words came forth. The entire poem was in my dream.

Posted by Robin Patterson on 01/28/06 at 03:45 PM Jeanna- I don't mean to scare you (this dream was scary enough!) but, when I read this piece, I immediately thought that the person "talking" seemed to have some "power" over the other--it was almost as if Satan himself had spoke his lies upon you! Especially the ending would make perfect sense coming from him....only the good part is, he can never win unless you give yourself to him ...and I can tell by your writing the gift you have is captivating and beautiful, and not something he has ever had power to give in the first place. Keep writing girl:)Robin |
