Puzzling...

by Heide McAlister-Bates

Scattered pieces,
bits of the sky,
bits of the grass,
bits of the sail,
nothing quite
fitting together
for the longest
time.

Somehow,
it all starts
coming together,
piece by piece
until you get
the full picture.

Then,
someone needs
the table.

So you break it apart
and start again
somewhere else,
piecing it back together
again.

powerful analogy for sure, well carried out throughout the poem. It seems to fit my evening last night, when we took our camper and camping equipment out and set up a tent after years of not using, somehow. I can see the sky, etc. here and all the concrete images, and message.

Yes, the analogy is perfect. Life is like the game of ladder and snake. Every time we are bitten we are back to square one 'piecing it back together again.'

I love the puzzle analogy! "and someone else needs the table" Perfect line! isn't that always the way... fun read

Yes, this is indeed a great analogy of life itself. Simple yet thorough in its fullness. Well done!

Nice analogy, but how come I don't even get to find the corners?
