i find it quite amusing
that you of all people
are at a loss for words

we both appreciate
how significant
vocable utterances
can and cannot be

stop meandering
and except the fact that
you should have known
what i knew all along

when it gets to the point
that you have to create
petty and uninhabited
questions just to find
a reason to say my name

it is time to let
bygones be bygones
and say good-bye
in a way less
indicative of
ourselves
