i can write bitter poetry about you too by Lauren Singerup until now we wore our smirks
with essences of chagrin.
"you don't get to me" they'd say.
secretly we'd sit for hours
planning each other's deaths
a thousand times over.
and i know we both wanted what the other had
and he sat beside us and teased us both.
never made mention of those stinging glares,
those uncomfortable close moments
where we'd coldly avoid the other's eye.
being the unmatched wheel in this spinning trolley
was never meant to be easy.
we both do the crazy bitch thing pretty well,
except you were too passive aggressive,
and i wasn't too good at playing it cool.
too bad we spent so much time hating each other
and not enough time confronting him.

Posted by Ava Blu on 07/21/05 at 03:33 AM I really enjoyed this; the stanzas all fit well together. "being the unmatched wheel in this spinning trolley
was never meant to be easy.
"---I always love new ways of expressing things. |
