I-80 by Leonard M HawkesI remember the old road,
The twisted, switching passage
Through this gray granite barrier.
And Reno's Fourth Street,
And the quick view of "the arch",
And Truckee as "little more than a junction."
Now forty years, and we glide thoughtlessly
O'er the long and trecherous summit
That once in winter vengefully devouered the Donners. 07/19/2005
