Spanish Guitar

by Amanda Conlogue

I listen to your fingers
fumble as you practice spanish
guitar, but I can still
hear the beauty, the promise
in the way your fingers
strum, pluck out
the notes, as if picking
the most succulent
apple in an orchard
sinking your teeth
into the bounty, sweetness
clinging to your hands, lips
I'm desperate for a taste
yet, I remain
attentive, still
waiting for the notes to end
the apple eaten
flavor lingering in air

gorgeous and dreamy. I believe the Spanish guitar is the same as the Classical? I love that music and your faith in what will come.
