Ever

by Sahar Rahim

It's the same old thing, it seems to me
The same old day, the same ol' routine
It seems to me that we're running in circles
Chasing that better life, instead of living the one we have
Always searching, always moving, always adding on to the stress in our lives

It seems so sad that we don't pause to take in what we have
We don't appreciate the lives we live
We just don't stop and look around us

When was the last time you smelled a rose
As corny as that sounds
When was the last time you laughed in good company and not corporate junkies

Ever lay in the park just soaking in the day
Ever walked on the beach late at night sinking into the sand
Ever run for pure love and not for staying fit
Ever...enjoyed who you are

Author's Note: NOT good at all...to much going on in my head tonight I suppose...will get revised or deleted probably.
