Firefly

by Tota Longmire

Some days I slip
So far down
I lose track
Of everything.

Where's a shining star when you need one?

I thought, for a little while
I had one,
But some days it's more like
A firefly,
Flickering in and out.
It's only on when I need it to be,

Some times,
Other times,

I'm running around in the dark waiting
For another flash to shed some light
And tell me which way to go.

It often seems,
That even the firefly
Isn't sure

Which way
Is up.

"Wheres a shining star when you need one?"
Lovely and creative.

Genuine, with a nice ending.
