Coil

by Uriel Tovar

the coldest moment
is that thin instant in which
you realize you're mortal.
That moment that tells you
that you will die.
A fleeting redundancy
laced with iron regrets
and rusted hopes.

for that moment confusion
is forgotten and
anxiety, embraced.

A nicely written poem and interesting take on the outcome of realizing our mortality, "for that moment confusion is forgotten and anxiety, embraced." - I myself would attempt to embrace LIFE instead :-)
