Colourful boy

by Sam Roberts

On a naked high branch
The bone of a leaf drifts to my hand
Dead against my skin, sharply scratching into my hollowness
Stop and stay a while I want to be a furrow
Thin and beautiful, twiggy and light

In a lonely pastime
I thought I found the moon, he was well hidden
Looking over at me behind the darkest sky

But one day it dawned on me and I grew tired
Because he doesn’t see me, or think I am beautiful.
If he was mine to hold I would blossom like a butterfly
And the colours would be so vibrant,
Like happy smiles sewn on with colours, blue berry and plum.

It feels lonely up here,
You're just my day dream
And i will spend the rest of today dreaming
Like I knew it’s tomorrow

Author's Note: I'm not too sure to be honest, but it was the only thing in my head. Granted it's not great and it needs a lot of work doing but this is all i have for now. I haven't posted in a while and it was annoying me. Stay beautiful xoxox
