Exposure

by Jane E Pearce

There they are,

fluid, raw, shiny,

spreading out from center to edge-

secrets long sequestered,

so glad to be free - almost

giggling as they scamper along.

Now, you know the loves, fears, tears

once bolted and locked away

until I was seduced, ravished,

laid bare by words- dastardly words

that force me to write poems.

The moment I saw this I loved it Jane. What a gem. Indeed there are moments when the words have us in their grip as they speak on behalf of beauty, of truth, of WHAT IS as we find ourselves present before this overwhelming knowledge, this sense of clarity, "Now, you know the loves, fears, tears once bolted and locked away until I was seduced, ravished, laid bare by words- dastardly words that force me to write poems" - there is something almost sensual about this, something erotic, or rather, spiritual and raw at the same time. What a combination of being...compelled to expose, exposed to compel. I like this so much. High marks to you Jane :-)
