the toaster oven

by Barbara Griffith

Dainty in white, lace and pearls
she stepped down the aisle.

Infront of her, the man of her dreams;
Tall, Handsome, and Loving.

To her left, the friend of all friends;
Supportive, Caring, and Mirthful.

To her back, the family and family to be;
Crying, and Wishing the best for them.

And crying in the parkinglot, holding a
Silver wrapped toaster oven,

She Cries.

Barbara what an impact this had on me. Reality wrapped in a white gown and tux. Might make me glad I've always been single, then again, who knows...
