Try So Hard by Anita MacYou forgot me
in places
where there are more trees than buildings.
I miss you
and I'm so mad at you for that.
I know,
people are only worth your time if they make you
try so hard.
I loved you
before you felt the need to define yourself
(before you felt the need not to).
I knew all along that you simply Were.
that's all I ever needed.
But, you never feel good enough.
And Damn,
you try so hard!
"Sorry"
is something I never want to hear from you,
but it's the only thing Fitting.
07/07/2005 Author's Note: Mellowed it out a bit... I was kinda in a rage when I wrote the draft... It's in my journal, if you feel like checking
out the differences. It's not a particularly good piece in general, though. Angry poems rarely are I find. I dunno.
It's out, that's the important thing.

Posted by Ashok Sharda on 07/08/05 at 03:36 AM well, writing out helps us to see what is since we are face to face. |
Posted by Bradd Howard on 07/08/05 at 09:18 PM I think this reads great... I didn't feel so much anger here than anguish... more pain than anger... I definitely connected to this piece though... great work |
