Wind by Sahar RahimEver feel the wind swoop around you
Enclose you in it's powerful grip
Squeeze you tight as though it'd never let go
Ever been encased in the air
Almost suspended and just held
As though nothing could touch you, nothing but the sweet breeze
It cradles you
Comforts you
Holds you
And you feel...safe
Smiling you walk along
It's pushing you farther yet holding you just where you need to be
Everything else just seems to melt away
Time moving ever so slow
And you wonder, what more could you want
What more could you ask for
What else really matters but to be hugged by the unseen
And as you ponder this question, searching for a reasonable answer
It whispers in your ear
This raspy rush lifting you up
It calls to you, letting you know all is well
Nothing can possibly go wrong
It will never let you slip away
You stroll down the street listening to it build and break
Yet still it swarms around you
Holding you
And all that you've searched for is suddenly placed right in front of you
Because the only thing left for it to say is
I love you
Yes this is a wonderful wonderful day. 07/05/2005 Posted on 07/06/2005 Copyright © 2026 Sahar Rahim

| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 07/07/05 at 09:44 PM Sahar, this may be a rhetorical question, but it still needs to be answered - yes, and the feeling is wonderful, just the way you describe it. The way the poem's lines vary are like the wind's broad breezes and small swirling eddies. As you move through the poem, the line of questions procede in an almost logical manner, although the wind knows none. It's a reminder of the freedom it has and wants you to have. Welcome to pathetic!
